Painesville passes legislation to allow new Lake Erie College dorms in former Chase Bank building

Painesville City Council has approved legislation that will allow the construction of dormitories for Lake Erie College students.

There will be over 170 beds in the dormitory and the living space will be able to be leased to students, either for nine or 24 months.

The project, being developed by Renew Partners LLC in the downtown district, is renovating the former Chase Bank Building. It borders South Park Place on the front, Liberty Street on the side and Washington Street to the rear, and the rear.

Lake County Ohio Port Authority announces name change to Lake Development Authority

The board of the Lake County Ohio Port and Economic Development Authority this week officially changed the organization’s name to the Lake Development Authority. A six-month rebranding process included aspects of strategic planning, situation analysis and identity discovery exercises.
